Accident Ties Up Highway 16 at Domano

Prince George, B.C. – Traffic was seriously disrupted Saturday afternoon following a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Highway 16 west and Domano Boulevard.
The accident, involving at least two vehicles, happened at about 2:45 pm and it is believed at least two people were sent to hospital with undetermined injuries.

Westbound traffic on Highway 16 was backed up a long way toward Peden Hill due to the large number of police, fire and ambulance vehicles that were blocking all lanes of the highway just west of Domano.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.

a fortune has been spent to make that intersection safer for traffic and yet accidents are still occurring there, is it time to face the fact that driver’s are just failing to follow the rules of the road and they need to be more responsible while driving.
But do you think the “safer roads” people will ever admit to that?
What we really need is a bypass for that intersection, like Ospika continued out to the highway.
And when is this city going to admit that we need a TRUE by pass route? There is enough accidents,– that’s part of the provincial highway system-go to the prov. gov’t and plan a route that trucks can use that isn’t remotely through the middle of town! Till then these repeated accidents will continue.
simple solution to that intersection – instead of the green arrow disappearing and having just the green light, make that arrow turn red. simple? i think so

Yes ,..extending Ospika to the highway will take a lot of pressure off that intersection.

I have talked to quite a few people about the necessity to have the green arrow turn red! Everyone agrees! It is far too dangerous to allow drivers to attempt a left turn when the through traffic has green lights in both directions! Time to get real and simply prohibit drivers from gambling their own lives and the lives of others!
the rcmp are too stupid, or lazy..or both… to route people behind the rockford and help the traffic flow out.
I’m pretty sure that nobody can turn at all once the left turn signals have ended at this intersection!
Partly correct pookerjams
Hwy 16 turn signal turns green arrow then yellow and red for the rest of the time but Domano/Tyner turns green arrow, yellow and green. The amount of traffic on Domano and Tyner going straight through is very light, most people turn onto 16 west instead of traveling straight
This accident looks like a rear ender from someone stopping as they turn right off Tyner towards Walmart when the person behind them doesn’t
