Prince George, B.C. – Two people are dead following a single vehicle crash on Highway 16.

North District RCMP Corporal Dave Tyreman said it happened yesterday afternoon just after 2pm near Terracanna (approximately 50 km east of McBride).

He says evidence gathered at the scene helped officers conclude that an east bound vehicle went off the road into the ditch very gradually before rolling in the ditch and coming to rest on its side.

Tyreman says two female passengers aged 76 and 78 were pronounced dead at the scene while the two male occupants, aged 78 and 82, were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

He says the cause of the crash remains under investigation and says no names will be released.
