Mountain Bike Enthusiasts Descend on Williams Lake
Williams Lake, B.C. – Hundreds of mountain bikers and industry professionals have descended on Williams Lake for the Mountain Bike Tourism Symposium.
It runs from today through Sunday and the Cariboo city best known for its world famous rodeo beat out 11 communities to win the bid.
Mayor Walt Cobb expects the event will be a nice boost for the local economy.
“Having this group in Williams Lake will not only impact our economy during the symposium, but it will increase tourism and influence the economy in the seasons to come.”
The symposium also has the enthusiastic support of the Cariboo Regional District.
“Our regional effort to support and promote mountain biking has given the Cariboo a presence on both a provincial and international stage, and the heightened media attention will keep us there.”
