Prince George, B.C. – The UBC Thunderbirds scored once in the first half and counted again in the second half on their way to a 2-0 victory over the UNBC Timberwolves in Canada West men’s soccer play Saturday.

The Thunderbirds scored at the 16:51 mark and added a second goal in the 53rd minute while outshooting their local opponent 10-5.  Tyrone Venhola made eight saves in the Timberwolves’ goal.

UNBC, now 1 and 6 on the season, will try to split the weekend set with the 6 and 1 Thunderbirds when they meet at 2:15 this afternoon.

Meantime, the UNBC women’s side, which tied Lethbridge at a goal apiece Friday night, will close out its home season this afternoon.  The 0-5-2 Timberwolves face 5 and 2 Calgary at noon.
