Bone to Head Up P.G. Construction Association

Prince George, B.C.- The Prince George Construction Association and BC Construction Association-North Board of Directors have  announced  Scott Bone as their new CEO. PGCA

Bone is no stranger to the community having spent  more than  20 years working  for the City of Prince George as the Manager  of Supply and Fleet Services.  Most recently  he was  with TransCanada Pipelines  in the role  as the Local Contract Representative responsible for promoting employment and contracting opportunities associated with major pipeline projects.

“We know that Scott’s proven record as a results-oriented, strategic leader will be critical as we develop and implement programs to grow and serve our membership of over 250 members in the industrial, commercial and institutional construction industry” said Board Chairs Iain Elder and Ken Morland.

Bone says he is looking forward to “Working with the Board of Directors and members as well as government/tendering authorities across Northern BC to promote construction investment, high industry standards, and effective practices”

He replaces  Roz Thorn who has retired after  48 years with the Association.

Interesting choice of words in the headline.

Mixed feelings about this. A substantial amount of arrogance was common day to day while at the CoPG – imho.

The PGCA has had a wonderful personality for years. Hope it doesn`t change. Leopard – spots – history…time will tell.

I hope he does better for the PGCA than he did at the City.

So that’s a full-time job? What does the PGCA CEO do?

Operates the plan room, ensures members comply with the bylaws of the association, keeps up-to-date on issues related to construction and contractors both in general as well as more specific concerns of memebers, promotes and maintains membership programs, lobbies for the construction association, takes directions from the Board for any other duties.

That would be a start as I see it.
