Investigation Continues Into Fatal Plane Crash Near Fort St. John
Prince George, B.C. – Two investigators from the Transportation Safety Board (TSB) of Canada are busy assessing the scene of a plane crash which killed two men near Fort St. John Friday afternoon.
“They arrived yesterday and continue to work on the site to continue gathering information to assess the occurrence,” says TSB spokesperson Chris Krepski.
The privately operated Cessna 207, with two people aboard, crashed shortly after takeoff from an airstrip southeast of Fort St. John in Baldonnel at around 4:00pm.
Today he says investigators will be documenting the site and taking photographs to be examined at the lab.
“They’ll look for information such as pilot training records, aircraft maintenance, what the weather would have been like at the time, the nature of the airstrip and if there was any communication with air traffic control.”
The BC Coroners Service, which is also on scene today, hopes to release the names of the deceased tomorrow.
