Police Seek Info on Two Cases

Prince George, B.C. – RCMP  in Prince George are looking  to speak to anyone who  could offer information on two separate cases.

In the first case,   the Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit   continues to investigate the death of  35 year old Matthew Begg.    His body was found near the end of Haldi Lake Road on Sunday August  23rd and police  believe   the death to be a homicide.

We are confident that someone out there has information that will further this investigation says Sgt. Todd Wilson of the Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit. We want to see the person or persons responsible brought to justice so that Ian’s family can begin to heal.

Investigators are requesting those persons with information about this Homicide to come forward and speak to investigators.

The other case is that of a missing swimmer.  It was  Friday July 3, 2015,  when 15 year old  William Quail  slipped underwater while swimming with a friend in the Fraser River  at the south end of Lheidli T’enneh  Memorial Park near the  what is now called  the Hudson’s Bay Wetland Nature Park (formerly  called the Hudson’s Bay slough).

Despite searches that involved the Prince George Search and Rescue  Society,  the RCMP and Emergency Management BC.,  Quail  has not been found.

Investigators believe there were people who saw the two boys swimming in the river at approximately 12:00 PM and have information that could help determine what happened.

William Quail is described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • 156 cm (5’5″)
  • 54 kg (120 lbs)
  • Short blonde hair
  • Blue eyes
  • Last seen wearing blue jeans, gold and black DC running shoes and a black t-shirt

The RCMP are asking for assistance from the public in both these cases.
