Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Kidney Walk will be held at the Northern Sports Centre at UNBC tomorrow.

Twenty-five communities across the province will be taking part in this year’s Kidney Walk to raise funds in support of kidney patients and their families.  Over 500 people in BC are currently on the waitlist for a life-saving organ transplant, and almost 400 of those are waiting for a kidney.  The Kidney Foundation’s annual walk is focusing its efforts on the importance of kidney transplantation and organ donation.

Since 2008, The Kidney Walk campaign has raised over $1.3 million for kidney patients in BC. This year the goal is to raise $450,000 across the BC & Yukon Branch.

Everyone is invited to take part in tomorrow’s walk at the Northern Sports Centre, with activities getting underway at 1pm.
