New Hazelton, B.C.- RCMP in  Hazelton, are still trying to find out   how a vehicle  ended up in the Skeena River.On Monday afternoon, New Hazelton RCMP received a call of a red colored vehicle had been spotted in the Skeena River approximately 1 Km, west of the Hwy 16/37 junction.

RCMP had the vehicle pulled from the river and determined  no one was inside the Red Pontiac Sunfire when it entered the river.

Investigators are still attempting to follow up with the registered owner (who is not believed to have been the driver at the time of the incident) of the vehicle to determine who may have been operating it at the time.

Police are asking anyone who may have any information regarding this vehicle or its operation anytime prior to the time of the river sighting, to contact the New Hazelton RCMP at 250-842-5244 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477(tips).
