Quiet Halloween Night for Prince George RCMP

Sunday, November 1, 2015 @ 9:52 AM

Prince George, B.C. – It was a relatively quiet Halloween night for the Prince George RCMP.

Corporal Craig Douglas says from 6 p.m. last night until 6 a.m this morning, Mounties responded to about 75 service calls.

“Which is probably a little bit on the lower side which is great.”

Of the calls police did receive, he says they ranged from the usual noise complaints to bylaw infractions.

Douglass attributes the quiet evening to a couple of factors, including increased resources out on the road.

“We had a pretty significant presence out there whether it be regular police officers, auxiliary members or volunteers.”

He says members of the partying public are to thank as well.

“We thank those that participated in the festivities and kept it on the legal side.”

They must have had ear plugs in at 4:30 am when all the booming fireworks were going off in College Heights.

Heard lots of fire works throughout the night.. Had some kids in some excellent costumes come to my house. All trick or treaters where very polite..was great night… And the bonus as per usual lots of candy left over for us..lol

75 calls? Easy night. Gotta be happy about that. Safe shifts, folks.

On a Saturday night too! Maybe this town is growing up a bit.

PG has half the youth population it had 20-years ago, so that no doubt plays a significant role in the reduced amount of issues around hooliganism. The average age of the community is nearly 20-years older than it was in 1990 as well.

A lot of mischief to clean up though, more than in past years. Eggings and grafitti top the list. RCMP may have had a quiet night but we had a busy morning

At least one call was for a stolen truck on the Hart, it is posted on facebook for a pic – so keep a lookout for a blue extended cab dodge pickup with a heavy steel bush bumper that looks like it doesn’t belong
