Tree arrives at Coast Inn – photos 250News
Prince George, B.C. – The signs of the season are starting to show, the most vivid in the City of Prince George is the Tree of Lights, which arrived at the Coast Inn of the North this afternoon.
The 4,000 pound fir tree was harvested in the Carp Lake area, and delivered by Warmac Ventures. The tree was then lifted to its Christmas season home on top of the Coast Inn of the North by Sterling Crane.
The tree offers a visual measure of the Salvation Army’s annual fundraising campaign, as lights are illuminated to show the status of the campaign. As more dollars are collected, more lights are lit.
Now all that’s needed is some more volunteers to ensure the bulbs are strung.
“We’ve got about eight to 10 people on the volunteer list but we’re still looking for more,” says business agent Bill Glasgow. “We need about five or six more per day to make this happen.”
Volunteers are needed from November 5 to November 12. Each shift lasts three hours and run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. each day (excluding November 11).
If you are able to volunteer, you’re asked to call Glasgow on his cell at 250-961-4029. “Call me anytime,” he says. “I’m available 24/7.”

Nice looking tree!
I agree. It is a fantastic looking tree. But we are just approaching Remembrance Day. Can we put Christmas off just a little longer ?
Some things have to be done before the Snow Flies !
Safety Reasons.
