Academic All -Canadians recognized at UNBC

Prince George, B.C.-It isn’t easy to be a top athlete and score big marks while in University, but 15 Timberwolves at UNBC have done just that.
This week, the University celebrated the achievements of its athletes with its annual Academic All-Canadian reception and donor recognition.
To be considered an Academic All-Canadian, a student-athlete must be an active member of a varsity team while achieving a GPA of 3.67 or higher throughout the academic year.
The 15 who achieved that goal at UNBC are:
- Ashley Anderson, Women’s Soccer
- Francesco Bartolillo, Men’s Soccer
- Jeff Chu, Men’s Basketball
- Jessica Erickson, Women’s Soccer
- Harjas Grewal, Men’s Soccer
- Tanya Grob, Women’s Soccer
- Katia Hartwig, Women’s Soccer
- Darin Kamsteeg, Men’s Soccer
- Clay Kiiskila, Men’s Soccer
- Thomas McMurtry, Men’s Basketball
- Jasprit Nijjar, Women’s Basketball
- Logan Phenuff, Men’s Soccer
- Hannah Pudlas, Women’s Basketball
- Jo Ribeiro, Women’s Soccer
- Sarah Robin, Women’s Basketball
UNBC has also introduced the Presidential Academic Achievement Award, given to the Timberwolves varsity team with the highest GPA during the 2014-15 season.
With a team GPA of 3.06, the women’s soccer team ( shown at right) is the inaugural winner of the award, edging the women’s basketball team by .01 of a point
