Stage Set for Civic Light Up
Prince George, B.C.- The annual light up at the Canada Games Plaza is set for Sunday, November 22nd.While the countdown to the light up starts at 5:00 , there will be plenty to do in the plaza, library, Civic Centre and Two Rivers Art Gallery leading up to the light up.
“The festivities start at 3:30pm with music, hayrides, entertainment, and skating and there will also be Story Time at the Prince George Public Library at 4:00pm and Craft Time at Two Rivers Gallery,” says Jen Tkachuk, Civic Events Coordinator with the City of Prince George. “Of course, there will also be hot cocoa and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus!”
Along with live music, there will be skating on the outdoor rink, and weather permitting there will be some figure skating demonstrations.
Hayrides are always popular during this event, as is the free hot cocoa. For a twoonie, you can get churros or pretzels.
In the Library, at 4 p.m., it will be Light Up story time, while the Two rivers Art Gallery will be holding its holiday lantern making workshop from 3:30 to 6:00.
Of course, there\s the Festival of Trees taking place inside the Civic Centre, from 9 in the morning to 9 at night, admission at the door.
The event hits a peak with the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus at 5:15.
