Three vehicle crash at Ferry and 16 – photo 250News
Prince George, B.C.- A three vehicle crash at Ferry and Highway 16 has tied up traffic through that intersection. While there are no reports of any serious injuries, it will take some time for the scene to be cleared.
This particular intersection has gained a reputation as being one of the worst in Prince George when it comes to crashes. Last year it was ranked the second worst in the city, with 35 crashes , second only to the intersection of Domano and highway 16 which had 41.

people are just not paying attention, there was a pile up there last thursday, traffic was backed up to Ferry from an accident at the bottom of peden hill and all people see is the green light and not all the traffic stopped and one after another they plowed into each other at Ferry :-(
It all boils down to people rushing around and not paying attention. Slow down, take your time, and focus. about a year ago I was cut off at the Vance Rd intersection. Just hope that no one gets seriously injured.
LOL…Yes, the intersection is responsible for these crashes, not the drivers, hence the “reputation”.
That is for sure one intersection that should only be allowed a left turn on a left signal as it is far too busy and fast moving for left turns to be made once the light turns green
Stupid is as stupid does. Stupid people are causing these crashes, not the intersection.
The sight lines used to be a lot worse at that intersection, with trees on either side of Ferry. Then they opened it right up and put a set of traffic lights there. Now we have lots of crashes.
Same thing with Domano and Hwy 16. They opened it up, greatly improved the intersection and still lots of crashes.
Sometime someone will figure out that wide open and controls often give people a sense of entitlement or they don’t have to pay attention anymore or something and they get really careless.
In places where there are no lane lines on the pavement or they turn off the traffic lights, people drive slower and are much more cautious. In these instances, they have to look out for themselves and it works.
