Prince George, B.C. – Second year students from UNBC’s Elementary School Teaching program proudly displayed their students creations at the annual Children’s Art Gala last night.

The students, fresh back from their three week practicums at schools in Prince George, wove various subjects into their art projects, ranging from bats and turtles to aboriginal themes.

“Tonight is a celebration of art,” said Franco Celli. “It’s nice to see all the work come together and to celebrate art and creation and let kids be kids and explore creativity.”

Julie Lizotte, who spent her three weeks at Harwin Elementary, said it was a valuable experience.

“It went well. I learned a lot from my students.” The practicum was one of their last chances to gain hands on experience as all are due to graduate in April.
