Want Improvements, Pack The Playhouse
Prince George, B.C. – The people who run CFUR, the radio station at UNBC, are raising money to build a new production studio and are marking the last day of their first Fund Drive with a big musical show at the Prince George Playhouse tonight.
The CFUR Radio Society is teaming up with Integris Credit Union and Coldsnap Music Festival to present The First Waltz, a night celebrating Prince George musicians. The popular Black Spruce Bog is lined up as the house band for the night, and the many Prince George musicians performing include Kym Gouchie, Marcel Gagnon, Murray Gable, Jeremy Stewart, Britt Meierhofer, Nathan Kelly, Raghu Lokanathan, Naomi Kavka, and Corbin Spensely.
CFUR Manager Fraser Hayes says “Over the past year we have been able to produce dozens of in-house live studio performances with both local and touring artists. We are running out of space and are in need of a new production/editing studio to continue our video program.”
The playhouse doors open at 7 tonight with the concert starting at 8. Advance tickets costing $25 each are available at http://buytickets.at/cfurradiosociety/30871
Tickets will also be available at the door for $30 each. And there will be a cash bar.

I’ve never heard of CFUR before. What kind of music do they play, and what’s the channel number to tune to?
CFUR 88.7 on the FM dial … Google CFUR for their website which has schedules, events and a ‘listen live’ option.
An absolute waste of time “CFUR”, tried 4 years in a row to contact them to fund programming and no one called back. No one actually answered the phone, at all, left several messages and to be completely clear about it, it seemed like the station could care less about staying open. Real pity, now they are running out with hat in hand looking for money. What a joke… seriously
