Prince George, B.C. – Dates have been set for the 2016-17 budget consultation process in the Prince George School District.

They will take place April 4, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. and on April 20, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Details from the meetings will be reported back to the board at its monthly meeting on April 26, 2016.

Topics for discussion will include revenue and expenses, budgets, required administrative savings and anticipated challenges.

However the decision to hold two meetings was not unanimous with Trustee Sharel Warrington opposed.

She told the board there would be value in holding a third meeting to help educate and involve more people to get involved in the process.

Her colleagues disagreed though, with Trustee Tim Bennett noting based on his experience in previous years there would be enough “familiar faces around the table” to get that work done in two meetings.

The locations of the budget consultations were not announced.
