Santa Comes To Breakfast
Prince George, B.C. – This is a magical time of year when awestruck children with beaming smiles look wide-eyed at a jolly, white-bearded fellow in a red suit.
And parents’ faces light up as well as they watch the expressions of wonderment that quite often are followed by high-pitched squeaks of glee. With all that’s happening around us, it’s a cool thing to watch.
The College Heights Community Association held its 28th annual Breakfast With Santa today at the Columbus Community Centre. Breakfast was served to somewhere between 200 and 230 people by 25 volunteers. One of those helpers, Andrea, has been at every one of the 28 events: first as a child going to see Santa and now as one of the people helping to light up the faces of today’s kids.
All kids in attendance 12 and under get to visit and receive a gift from Santa. Those over 12 have breakfast. Tickets are 10 dollars per person.
The Columbus Community Centre donates their building for the event and Save-on Foods donates some of the food.
