Cougars Blow Lead, Lose 5-4 to Portland

Portland, Ore. – The Portland Winterhawks came back from a two goal deficit in the third period to beat the visiting Prince George Cougars last night, 5-4.

Rihards Bukarts scored the winner with just 48 seconds left to secure the victory. The loss was the first for Prince George in seven starts.

However Chase Witala remained hot for the Cats, scoring two goals in the first 1:23 seconds of the first period for his seventh and eighth goals in just three games.

Witala leads Prince George with 19 goals on the season. The teams will play game two of a double header tonight.

The puck drops at 6 p.m.
