Police Investigating Weekend Home Invasion – Update
Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George RCMP is investigating a weekend home invasion.
Corporal Craig Douglass says it happened Friday night at around 8 p.m. on the 2100 block of Oak Street.
(Editors note, police sources have corrected the location, they originally told 250News it happened in College Heights).
He says police arrived on scene and spoke to six occupants.
“Information provided and evidence at the scene led investigators to believe that the residence was a target of a home invasion style robbery,” says Douglass. “A search warrant was obtained and executed. More evidence including a rifle, ammunition and a replica handgun were seized.”
He says one adult male was taken to the University Hospital of Northern BC for treatment of minor injuries and was later released.
Douglass says two unknown suspects were believed to have been responsible for the offence and though no descriptions were provided, one of them may have a firearm.
He adds this residence and occupants are known to police and believe it was a targeted offence. If you have information about this incident you are asked to call the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
