PG Dominates Seattle in 6-2 Road Win
Seattle, WA – The Prince George Cougars continued their winning ways with a convincing 6-2 win in Seattle over the Thunderbirds last night.
Forwards Jansen Harkins and Jesse Gabrielle led the way for the Cats with three point nights while Ty Edmonds picked up the win in net.
Prince George outshot the hometown T-Birds 33-28 in front of 5,126 fans at the ShoWare Center.
The win gave the Cougars a 2-1 record on their three game road swing which started with a split last weekend in Portland versus the Winterhawks.
The Cougars are on quite a streak compiling a record of 9-1-0-1 in their last 11 games which now ties them for second in the B.C. division with the Victoria Royals.
Speaking of the Royals, the arch rivals will face off in a double-header starting Friday at CN Centre. The puck drops at 7 p.m. The ever popular Teddy Bear Toss game takes place the following night.

Those Cougars are incredible this year; best start in 15 years and looking like a break out year for the Cougars!! Congrats on a job very well done. Can’t wait until the weekend double header against the Royals at CN Center!
The brand of hockey this team is playing is fast and skilled. All you need to do is come watch one game and the product on the ice will keep you coming back. Right now they could give that AHL team the canucks a run for there money.
Where did all the haters go?
The haters are still here.. they are just posting about hating unions and the trudeau..lol
As for the cougars.. they are looking fantastic.. oh what a year or two and new owner ship will do. Going to the game Friday night.
No Ifs, Ands or Buts about it. The Cougars are a force to be reckoned with. Seemingly scoring at will and throwing teams to the side. I expect a spirited weekend here in PG. Victoria will be a test, but their weakness is playing the tough game, they can’t do it. Vancouver, yes, the lowly Giants figured this out and have beat them twice in the last 3 games. We all know how tough the Cats play, should be fantastic.
Way to go Cats.
Seen their game a few times this year. They have changed the attitude. They can put a winning product on the ice.
Way to go to the new owners. They have a chance to finish 3rd in the western standing this year. That is amazing work.
Scary thought but Cougars are close to venturing into territory that past history has been like a kiss of death……the CHL Top 10. Victoria and Lethbridge currently hold down #9 & #10. A sweep of Victoria this weekend, no small order, would likely vault them into the Top 10. Past ventures into such lofty heights usually followed with a big slump. On the positive side though for the first time perhaps since moving to PG the Cougars have two legitimate scoring lines, solid goaltending tandem and solid, if unspectacular defence. When they had success in the past they usually rode 1 line, 1 goalie and played the hell out of a pair of top defencemen.
Those are good points Hammer24, a huge difference from previous Cougar incarnations that did well is an ownership/management team that will not rest on their laurels. From what I have seen both on & off the ice from this team, is a group that will not settle for mediocrities. Go Cougars!!
And look at that. The Cougars have hit the Honourable Mentions for the CHL top 10
Yes! Lethbridge is #9 and we beat them twice! Calgary is #10 and we beat them two out of three.
