Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Cougars came up with their highest goal output of the season to satisfy their largest crowd of the season on Teddy Bear Toss night at CN Centre.
Following attendance in the 2300 to 2800 range recently and, after getting stymied by a hot Victoria goalie in a 2-0 loss Friday night, the Cougars came back with an 8-2 thumping of the Royals Saturday before a near-sellout crowd of 5560.
No doubt many of the fans on hand were there to toss their stuffed animal contributions to the Salvation Army onto the ice when the Cats scored their first goal. And they got to do that at the 14:39 mark of the first period when Shane Collins scored with 6 seconds left on the power play to square the game at a goal apiece.
The fans went wild, the stuffed toys went flying and it took a whole lot of volunteers a good 20 minutes or so to bag ‘em up and move ‘em out.
And, with the handy victory in the Cougars’ final home game of the calendar year it could be that many of those 5,560 who turned out Saturday will be back in the New Year.

Bang on, Dan!
People are missing out on the opportunity to watch some excellent hockey! I’ve been to games where the Cougars have won and I’ve been to games where they have lost, but either way, the games were excellent!

It was a good game for the cougars and the community, happy to hear of how many underprivileged children will benefit from the game. Thanks to the hard work of volunteers at the game.
What will it take for you people to get out of the Tim Horton’s lineup, and watch a game?

2 players in the top 6 goal scorers
Top player in short handed goals

These guys are definitely working hard and showing the results
Best attendence this year was the first game at 3902 and last nights game at 5560. Both were special events.
After that we get an average of 2600 fans per game. (16 games)
With the team winning and all the pro mo’s you would think that more fans would be attending.
