(photo courtesy Northern Health)Quesnel, B.C. –  In the spirit of the season , the Dragon Lake Women’s Institute has  shared the holiday spirit with Dunrovin Park Lodge.

The holiday season can be a difficult time for seniors who are alone or dealing with complex health issues.

That is why members of the Dragon Lake Women’s Institute opted to forego exchanging gifts this holiday season in favour of giving a donation to residents at Dunrovin Park Lodge.

Marilyn McGuinness and Helen Nome of the Institute are hoping their decision will encourage other organizations and individuals in Quesnel to do the same.

People can give the gift of a donation by sending it directly to the recreation department at Dunrovin, or by giving it to the Spirit of the North Health Care Foundation and asking that it is provided to Dunrovin.

The staff at Dunrovin will used the donation to ensure that residents who are in need or without family received a meaningful gift.
