I think a better video camera might be a solution.
how about a larger vestibule area. with electric mag locks, with bullet proof glass.
or a colt 45
A ‘promise to appear’ in court seems a rather light touch for anyone charged with abetting an armed robbery…Guess this one can go on the RCMP’s tribute to 2015 busts.
So does anyone know what the consequences for failing to appear in court.
Does it mean once recaptured it is automatic jail time?
Do they get a complimentary ankle bracelet, with GPS?
Seems like we need to make adjustment to innocent until proven guilty. I don’t think we need to go to guilty until proven innocent. But definitely need something in place.
How about for these perennial criminals. “known to police”.
If these people are caught and have a history of mischief. They have gone thru the court system and are proven guilty. But is a waste of money to throw them in jail, or give them a GPS injection, Like in the “hunger games” so we know exactly where they are. They are on the big screen at the RCMP. thus easier to find, and if they recommit a crime, easier to identify who did it.
I know a few bleeding hearts will say it is a infringement on their human rights…. But when they committed the crime, I do believe they themselves had no respect for human rights. So I would not offer them the rights either.
“She has been released on a Promise to Appear for a future court date.”
What bleeding heart idiot let her out, hey she was part of an armed robbery! What part of that do you not understand? The victims where under threat of harm or death, who let her out? What if that happened to someone in your family.
Something has to be done about the bleeding heart justice system which only seems to serve a bunch of over paid bench warmers.
Too costly to put them in jail! We should outsource our prisoners to a country with a miserable climate. It costs anywhere from 80k to 120k a year depending on if it’s jail or prison! What a waste of money.
Why was she let out without naming her accomplices??? Why was she let out AT ALL when she is suspected of aiding in ARMED FREAKIN ROBBERY
I know quite a few members of the RCMP, and quite often these criminals are release on their own recognisance before the end of the shift of the officer that apprehended them. It is quite disheartening to know that the officers who are tasked with keeping the community safe are out there doing their jobs, while the justice system is letting the criminals go before the end of the day.
HE SPOKE, you hit the nail on the head. These criminals care nothing about anyone else’s human rights. OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM MUST CHANGE! Not that I want to pay to keep these loosers in a cushy provincial jail either.
Time to change that too. If our jails were something to be truly scared of, it may provide more of a deterrant towards crime in general. Criminals are able to rob innocent victims of their possesions, their sense of security and sometimes their quality of life (or even take an innocent life) and what do they get as punishment? Free legal aid, clean warm cells, 3 square meals, tv, free medical and access to free education.
Meanwhile their victims get nothing and are left feeling helpless. My own opinion is that heinous crimes deserve heinous punishment, get these lifelong degenerates out of the free population. Castrate sexual predators, end the life of murderers, take away the rights of those who violate other’s rights. Lesser crimes, how about well publicized, overly embarassing public floggings and longtime community service duties? Reinstate hard-labour chain gangs where applicable. Lets get something back out of the criminals and serve up real justice. That is my opinion, and my personal wish. All of you bleeding hearts be damned, you’d feel a hell of alot different if it was your child who was raped, or your wife who was murdered. Armed robbery is done with intent to use the weapon, treat it as attempted murder.
As for the female accomplice, lock her in solitary confinement until she gives up some info.
