Building permits behind 2014 numbers
Prince George, B.C. – The final numbers aren’t available yet for building permits and construction in 2015 in Prince George, but the November numbers indicate there is still a long way to go to match the total permit values achieved in 2014.
As of the end of November, there had been 463 permits valued at just under $84 million dollars issued. That compares to 481 permits valued at just over $121 million for the same eleven months in 2014.
Focusing on the month of November, there were 30 permits issued valued at $6.387 million in November of 2015. That compares to 46 permits valued at $6.98 million in the same month in 2014.
The driving force in the November 2015 stats is the number and value of permits for Commercial renovations. There were nine such permits issued in November 2015, with a value of $4.08 million, including $2.75 million for an addition to Northland Nissan and a permit for just under $387 thousand for an addition to Canadian Tire. In the same month a year ago, there had been 8 commercial renovation permits issued with a value of $1.67 million.
