Chamber Hosting Day Long Business Forum

Monday, January 11, 2016 @ 3:56 AM

Prince George, B.C. – Leading into the Natural Resource Forum  in Prince George on the 19th of January,  the BC Chamber of Commerce and Prince George Chamber of Commerce  will be hosting  a special one day Business Development Forum.

“We wanted to  do our best  to align with an excellent event   in the Natural  Resource forum” says P.G. Chamber CEO Christie Ray.  “We also  wanted to give people an opportunity  for  people who are attending the Natural resources forum to   maybe spend  an extra day here and find some extra value with our Business Development  forum.”

The one day  event  will focus  on issues important to small and medium businesses either serving and supplying ( or hoping to ) the natural resource sector

“Our primary intent  is for attendees to receive valuable take-aways” says Ray, “Information,  plans process, something that  they can   easily implement  to increase the likelihood of   them getting  a piece of one of the capital projects.”

Ray  says  there are  small businesses out there  that still need some  guidance on how they can  take advantage of the opportunities  the major capital projects,  such as Site C,   present.

The day long forum starts at 8:30  am on the 19th, and runs through  to 3:15 in the afternoon at the Coast Inn of the North.

Some of the information will not be new to  those who have  been following the progress of major  projects, but Ray says  some projects are entering new phases which opens  new   doors “We will have some folks who  can speak on some very specific  project pieces,   for example, Site C  now being at the point  looking for sub contractors to work on  the modular construction piece”.

The  Chamber is also involved in the Business to Business  events  set for Prince George in February.
