Prince George, B.C. – It’ll be another dogs day at the PG Agriplex today.

This as Top Dog Agility is holding the second of two dog agility trails this weekend from 9 am until 5 pm.

“It’s an AAC – Agility Association of Canada, sanctioned trial,” says agility director Donna Holmgren. “We have a few a year here so it’s nice to get out in the winter and work on what we’ve been practicing.”

Roughly 25-30 dog handlers will be on hand – running their four legged friends through a variety of courses.

“So this is a Steeple Chase we’re watching right now, which is basically fast and furious. You can fault and if you’re under time they turn faults into seconds.”

If you decide to come out this weekend, you’ll likely see Holmgren running the course with her Border Collie Quest.

“He’s my quest for greatness,” she jokes. “It’s just a game, we train hard to have fun with dogs.”

She admits there is a serious aspect to all the fun though – the chance to qualify for nationals in Quebec later this year.

“The AAC holds regionals every year to qualify for nationals. So we all go this year, it’ll be held down in Langley.”

If you’d like to see some dogs in action, entry is by donation to the Prince George Humane Society.
