Pair Arrested, Guns Recovered
Prince George, B.C. – Two Prince George residents have been arrested and are facing multiple charges as part of an investigation into a break and enter and the theft of firearms last week.
RCMP Corporal Craig Douglass says it all started last Thursday when police received a report of a break and enter at a rural residence on Upper Fraser Road, east of town.
He says officers arrived to find more than a dozen guns had been stolen along with a quantity of cash, binoculars, alcohol, clothing, and a GPS system.
On Friday Douglass says officers then executed a search warrant on a residence on Bunce Road in Prince George.
He says two people were taken into custody as a result and police located many of the stolen items including 14 rifles (a Ruger Blackhawk .357 Magnum handgun has not yet been located).
Patrick Ryan Baker, a 28 year old Prince George resident, has been charged by Provincial Crown Counsel with the following Criminal Code offences:
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
– Break, Enter and Commit an Indictable Offence
– Drive While Prohibited
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking
Douglass says Baker will be held in custody at least until his first court appearance scheduled for sometime today.
He notes a 26 year female Prince George resident was released on a Promise to Appear for court on March 16, 2016. Police are recommending property and firearms related charged against her.
