Prince George, B.C. – Highway  97 remains closed north of  the Salmon Valley bridge following a  fatal collision .

One person died,  another was  injured in the crash that  happened  around 10 this morning.   It is  expected the highway will reopen  around 6 this evening.

In the meantime,  traffic is being re-routed  via  Old Summit Lake Road.

Although  RCMP  continue their investigation,   speed is a  suspected  factor in this fatality.

The name of the deceased and  their hometown,  have not been released.
