Prince George, B.C. – Good news for outdoor skating enthusiasts as the Ice Oval has reopened for business.

“In short the ice looks very good,” says Dick Voneugen of the Prince George Outdooor Ice Oval Society. “A few rough spots on the edges, will be marked with cones. The Learn to Speed Skate program is a go as well.”

He cautions however that depending on the weather this afternoon, the decision could be made to close again as it was yesterday.

Despite Friday’s closure Voneugen says it’s still been a stellar season with the year’s early opening and more than 7,500 visitors.
