Prince George, B.C. – There is heavy damage but fortunately no injuries resulting from a house fire in the Hart early Friday evening.

Seventeen firefighters from three halls were sent to a structure fire in the 7300 block Carr Road at about 5:35 pm Friday.  The only person in the house at the time heard a smoke detector alarm, spotted flames in the ceiling of one of the rooms, got safely out of the house and called 9-1-1.

The fire, which then spread into the roof, was quickly extinguished by the firefighters but not before causing an estimated $100,000.00 damage.  Crews remained on scene for a couple of hours checking for hot spots.  There were no injuries to any of the fire crews.

Cause of the fire has not been determined although Assistant Chief Denis Poulin says it is not deemed to be suspicious.
