Charlie Lake Standoff Ends
Fort St. John, B.C. – Police say a two year old child involved in a possible domestic disturbance in Fort St. John is now safe.
This after the Fort St. John RCMP and the North District Emergency Response Team were deployed yesterday just before noon to a residence in the Charlie Lake area of Rim Rock Drive.
“The female victim reported that she was able to escape the residence however the subject of the complaint remained in the residence along with their two year old son,” said Corporal Dan Moskaluk.
After arriving on scene police set up a containment area to ensure public safety. Initially attempts to make contact with the individual were unsuccessful however police reported just before 11pm the two year old had been found safe inside the residence.
Additional information is not available at this time though a further update on the situation is expected later today.
