Name released of man involved in Sunday standoff

Ft. St. John, B.C.- The  man who was  involved in a stand off with  RCMP  in Charlie Lake on  the weekend has been  identified.

The BC Coroners Service has identified the man as 33 year old Mark Delawski of Charlie Lake.

RCMP had  attended  the Charlie Lake  residence  just before noon on Sunday  in response to concerns  expressed by  a family member.

According to  the Coroners Service, police were not able to  “engage” with  Delawski  and  around 10:30 that  night  the Emergency Response Team  entered the  home and found a 2 year old child unharmed, but Mr. Delwaski was  deceased.

The BC Coroners Service and the Independent Investigations Office (IIO) continue to investigate this death.

Not knowing any details but this sounds like a sad result to a domestic incident. I hope the kid was not traumatized in any way.
