High Winds Impact Power
Prince George, B.C.- BC Hydro crews have been kept hopping this morning in the Prince George area as spotty power outages have been occurring in the region.
Earlier today, power was out to about 306 customers in the downtown area, everyone was back on line within a couple of hours.
A tree was down across wires in the Haldi Road area and while power has been restored there, crews continue to work on trying to restore power in the Willow River area where a line is down. There is also a team trying to restore power in the Boundary Road-Milwaukee Way area of the BCR site.
Wind gusts today could hit 70kms an hour, increasing the risk of trees, or their limbs, coming into contact with hydro lines.
The mild temperatures have forced the closure of the Ice Oval as the ice making effort this morning looked more like pool cleaning time. ( photo at right courtesy Ice Oval Society)
