Celebrate Prince George Events Schedule – Sat. Feb. 13
The Celebrate Prince George Winter Festival hits high gear today with everything from a mulled wine contest to a party in the plaza. • 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM Farmer’s Market. Local fresh foods including meats, veggies, jams, jellies, sweets, perogies and artisan breads, plus arts, crafts and more.
• 9:00 – 10:00 AM Shadow Martial Arts: Free introduction to Shadow Martial Arts. Free introduction to martial arts for children 3-7 years old. Please call to reserve a spot (limited space).
• 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM The Exploration Place: Free admission. Free entry to The Exploration Place. Journey with us as we celebrate some exciting moments from the 2015 Canada Winter Games in our NEW exhibit: We Are Winter! Peruse the gift shop, meet our animal ambassadors and discover local history.
• 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM Free Entry and Extended Hours at Two Rivers Gallery. Experience the current exhibitions, peruse the gift shop and head over to Make Art make Sense and create and enjoy their extended hours into the evening to compliment the Plaza Party.
• 10:10 – 11:20 AM The Movement Group Fitness Mecca: Free ViPR Workout Class for Ages 13+. Pre-registration is required. 13-15yrs must be accompanied by an adult.
• 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM Northern Lights Estate Winery: Northern Lights Wine Festival. A mulled-wine competition, artists and food vendors, in a beautiful riverside location. Tickets $20.
• 11:30 AM Public Library – Bob Harkins Branch: Family Story Time. Your children and you will love our fun, playful stories aimed at children between the ages of birth and five years.
• 12:30 – 2:00 PM Rolling Mix Concrete Arena: (Formerly The Coliseum) Free public skate. Skate rentals available for $3.50.
• 1:00 PM Public Library – Bob Harkins Branch: Family Movie, Enchanted. Feel free to bring snacks and enjoy the show.
• 1:30 – 4:30 PM Aquatic Centre: Free Swim. Free admission and locker tokens. • 2:00 PM Theatre NorthWest: Dreary and Izzy. A beautiful tale of two First Nations sisters and the true power of unconditional love.
• 3:00 PM Public Library – Bob Harkins Branch: Teen Movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron. Teens only, bring a friend and enjoy the show.
• 3:30 – 5:30 PM Zaffron Cuisine: Persian Cooking 101. Come have fun and join Zaffron for two hours of cooking, socializing and eating. Learn about the basics and try the main spices used in Persian cooking.
• 4:00 – 9:00 PM Forestry and Railroad Museum: Free admission. Enjoy free admission with a non-perishable food item donation. There will be a bonfire and you can roast a hot dog or smores (for a small fee).
• 5:00 PM Northern Sport Centre: UNBC Timberwolves Basketball. Cheer on the Timberwolves Women’s Basketball team as they play the MRU Cougars.
• 5:00-9:15 PM Canada Games Plaza: Plaza Party. Wear your Green Jackets or Games Gear as we celebrate the 1 year anniversary of hosting the 2015 Canada Winter Games with live entertainment, activations, food vendors and fireworks!
• 5:30 PM Hart Community Centre: Gung Hay Fat Choy! Chinese New Year.
• 5:30 – 9:30 PM Shiraz Cafe and Restaurant: Zavan Band Jazz Night. Live music in a relaxed dining atmosphere.
• 6:00 – 8:00 PM Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre: Black History Month Soccer Tournament. Free admission.
• 7:00 PM Northern Sport Centre: UNBC Timberwolves Basketball. Cheer on the Timberwolves Men’s Basketball team as they play the MRU Cougars.
• 7:00 PM CN Centre: Prince George Cougars. PG Cougars vs. Kamloops Blazers. Special feature: Aboriginal Night. • 7:00 – 11:00 PM Treasure Cove Casino: Country Icons Present a Tribute to the Legends. Enjoy a great night of music with the Country Icons as they pay tribute to the legends: Merle Haggard, Alan Jackson, and Waylon Jennings.
• 7:30 PM Vanier Hall: PGSO’s Ravel’s Bolero. This symphony concert will seduce your ears with a popular masterpiece that promises a night of love, romance and poetic fantasy.
• 7:30 PM Royal Canadian Legion: Loving You Valentine’s Show and Dance featuring Steve Elliott Elvis Elite. “Treat Her Nice” and “Don’t be Cruel”… Dance the Night(s) away Sock Hop style in Celebration of Elvis Presley’s Love songs and Dance Hits that will keep you Rockin’ all Night! Tickets are $25.00 pp and available at Legion Office. Doors open after 4:00 PM.

• 10:00 PM – 2:30 AM Lambda Cabaret: Glow Your Status. Show your status with a coloured glowstick . $5 cover
