Prince George, B.C.- And the   winner of the 250News Celebrate Prince George photo contest is “Sleigh Ride”, an image captured by Betty Nelson.

“I took that photo at my parents farm about three weeks ago” says Betty, who offered lots of praise for the other images that were shared on 250News over the course of the contest.

“There were so many wonderful, beautiful shots.”

Photography is a hobby for her “I enjoy taking pictures, I like taking lots of camping and wildlife shots, just where ever I go.”

Selected by those who voted on the finalists, “Sleigh Ride” wins Betty Nelson a cheque for $250 dollars.

In second place was “Little Prince” an image captured by Dennis McLaren.   He wins $25 and two tickets to Lord of The Dance. Two other photos by Dennis also made the top 5, “CN Rail Bridge” and “Foggy Bridge” which each win a pair of tickets to Lord of the Dance.

The fifth photo to win a pair of tickets to Lord of The Dance was that of the Loons, taken by Peter Zwiers.

“This contest was a wonderful way to celebrate all the things that make Prince George special to those behind the lens” says 250News Publisher Elaine Macdonald-Meisner.

“Over the 9 days we published some incredible images of wildlife, places, sunsets and seasons ” adds Macdonald-Meisner “I thank each and every person who shared images with us so we could celebrate Prince George and area  and I  can’t wait to see  what folks come up with  the next time 250News runs a similar contest.”
