Dust Advisory Issued for Prince George

Prince George, B.C. – A dust advisory is in effect for the City of Prince George.
Issued by the Ministry of Environment in collaboration with Northern Health, it’s due to high concentrations of coarse particulate matter that are expected to persist until we receive some precipitation or until the streets are cleared of traction material.
The ministry says levels tend to be highest around busy roads and industrial operations. The advisory is in effect until further notice.
It’s recommended anyone with underlying medical conditions postpone strenuous exercise near busy streets or until the advisory is lifted.

No kidding?
I wonder what the solution will be?
After the street sweepers go by, the city really needs to have a water truck follow and WASH the streets of the fine particulate the sweepers can’t pick up.
We won’t get rid or minimise the dust problem until then.
Lets get the sand and gravel off the streets first before we worry about the dust. Rain will take care of the dust problem
All the idiots driving along the edge of the road in the dirt doesn’t help either.
Now they can’t get the sand and gravel off the streets, no sweeping is allowed until the advisory is lifted.
Slow down a little when driving through parking lots, kicks up less dust
Oh? They were sweeping sidewalks on Malaspina today.
Feb isn’t even over yet and so far I’ve seen at least 6 sweepers, 2 motorcycles and 3 convertibles with tops down. Myself, I’ve washed the cars 4 times in the driveway this month. I can’t complain sorry.
