Quesnel Fundraiser to Benefit Syrian Refugees
Saturday, March 5, 2016 @ 3:50 AM
Quesnel, B.C. – Those interested in helping support Syrian refugees will gather at the College of New Caledonia in Quesnel tonight.
‘Soup for Syria’ will run from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and organizers have billed it as a night to “share a meal together, as well as poetry, music and conversation.”
It will also include speakers like Lejla Muratspahic, a former Bosnian immigrant and now long time Quesnel resident.
Funds raised will be donated to the Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society in Prince George in support of sponsoring a Syrian family coming to Prince George.
Money will also go to the Karam Foundation, an organization working on the ground in refugee camps.
