Prince George, B.C. – Outdoor enthusiasts can get a kick start on the camping season starting next week.

They can do so by using BC Parks reservation system, Discover Camping beginning at 7 a.m. March 15.

Among the new attractions this year will be two small rustic trapper’s cabins in Wells Gray Provincial Park along with all the usual favourite picnic spots at Summit Lake, Ten Mile Lake, Lac La Hache and Green Lake provincial parks.

Discover Camping is an interactive website that displays the availability, layout and amenities at 122 campgrounds and 5,800 campsites throughout the province.

According to the government, more than 158,000 reservations were made through the website last year – an increase of almost 19% from 2014.

Would be campers can also call the call centre at 1-800-689-9025 to get first dibs on campsite reservations (for a surcharge of $5).
