Cariboo Cougars Force a Deciding Game 3

Sunday, March 13, 2016 @ 3:59 AM

Prince George, B.C. – The Cariboo Cougars ran into a hot goalie in David Tendeck in dropping the opening game Friday in their BCMML semi-final against the Vancouver Northwest Giants.  With their backs against the wall Saturday night they blew that same goalie out of the game and forced a rubber match later this morning.

The Cougars peppered Tendeck with 44 shots in Game 1 but came out on the short end of a 3-2 decision.  That loss left them in a do-or-die position Saturday and they came out playing with a purpose.  The Cougars scored three first-period goals on 18 shots, chasing Tendeck from the Giants’ crease in favor of Beck Warm.

Devin Sutton, Joel Patsey and Josh Maser scored for the Cougars while Jason Village scored the lone Vancouver goal.   Dorrin Luding made 25 saves for the Cougars including some outstanding stops in the second and third periods.    Warm blocked 15 shots.

So it all comes down to a winner-take-all Game 3, which begins at 11 this morning at Kin 1.
