Prince George, B.C. – Cindi Pohl has been reelected to a second term as president of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce.

It happened at the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting at the Coast Inn of the North last week and is the first time a female has ever been reelected to the position. chamber 2

“It’s exciting,” says Pohl. “I didn’t really think about it when I was running for election but it’s a cool thing.”

She says highlights from her first year included the creation of the Chamber’s new strategic plan, the Canada Winter Games, the City’s 100th anniversary, and celebrating UNBC’s 25th anniversary.

Pohl says her goals for year two will be to “keep doing what we’re doing and see if we can’t make it any better.”

Chamber CEO Christie Ray is thrilled to have her back.

“Cindi has been a very hands-on president which is really important. The role of president is extremely time consuming, it requires a real sense of commitment and dedication,” she says.

“Cindi certainly has done that, it’s a fully volunteer position, yet she gives so much of her time and quite frankly we’re lucky to have her.”

The Chamber will officially welcome and celebrate the new Board at the President’s Gala on April 16th at the Civic Centre. For a full listing of the new executive click here.

3 of her 4 highlights were taxpayer funded ventures? Interesting.
