Royal Purple Bazaar on Today
Prince George, B.C. – The community of Prince George has so many top-notch events that come around on an annual basis and one of the “keepers” in terms of both quality and popularity is the Canadian Royal Purple Spring Bazaar.
Well the calendar has reached that point once more and the ladies of the Royal Purple are holding the bazaar from 11 am to 3 pm today at the South Fort George Recreation Centre, 1100 LaSalle Avenue. Over 25 vendors will be selling everything from pyrogies to baked goods, crafts to jams and jellies. And, of course, the hot item each year is the homemade meat pies, chicken, turkey and beef varieties.
The “Meat Pie Committee” has made one thousand pies this year, 700 of them being sold through pre-orders and the remaining 300 for sale at the bazaar today.
The event also features a silent auction and raffles and there’s a lunch consisting of soup, sandwiches, squares, tea and coffee running from 11:30 am to 2 pm.
The bazaar raises funds for a number of local community causes. As well, some of the money this year will be going to the BC Family Hearing Resource Society.
