Prince George, B.C. – B.C. Hydro is reporting eleven power outages in the immediate Prince George area which are affecting service to just under two thousand people this evening.

Outages on the eastern, southern and western edges of the city have knocked out power to 1186 customers, with the cause of the power losses under investigation.  A windstorm has knocked out power to 239 customers west of Cranbrook Hill past the Otway Nordic Centre. Spot outages have affected service in the Hilltop Road area to the west and trees across hydro wires have affected customers north of the Beaver Forest Service Road, north of Knoedler Road and east of the Hart Highway and north of the PG Pulp Mill Road.

Power outages caused by wind storms are also reported in the Mackenzie, Quesnel and Williams Lake areas.

B.C. Hydro says crews are working to restore power lost in these 20 outages as quickly as possible.

Power outages are also reported this evening in Vanderhoof, Burns Lake, Smithers and Dawson Creek.  Slightly over three thousand customers are affected in the Central Interior and Northern regions.
