Shots Fired in Attempted Armed Robbery
Prince George, B.C. – Mounties have released more details regarding an attempted robbery and shots fired investigation (see previous story here) that stemmed from an incident in the Queensway Light Industrial area yesterday.
RCMP Corporal Craig Douglass says it happened just after 8:30 a.m. at a business on the 100 block of Kingston Avenue.
He says multiple units immediately responded to learn a lone male suspect had entered the business with a rifle demanding cash.
Douglass says the suspect subsequently fired one shot into a wall and fled in a pick-up truck with nothing of value. He says the business owner was not injured.
Douglass says a description of the vehicle and suspect led police to a residence on East Perry Road at 2:30 yesteday afternoon and resulted in the arrest of a 65 year old man.
The accused, who has not been named, was kept in custody overnight and will make his first court appearance later today.
The man is now facing several robbery and firearms related charges.
