New CHBA BC President from PG
Prince George, B.C. – The new president of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association British Columbia (CHBA BC) will be bringing a special northern perspective to the position.

Bliss, the current president of HG Bliss Projects in Prince George, is no stranger to the industry having first served on the board of directors for CHBA Northern British Columbia before he was elected to the provincial board.
He also has the educational background, having recently completed the requirements for the Master Residential Builder Certification, which is designed for students who want to advance their knowledge of industry trends and best practices in residential construction.
“I think education is really important for the residential industry and the commercial side,” says Bliss. “The building science is getting so involved now. It’s not simply throwing up walls when you’re building a house, there’s more to it.”
He adds it’s a humbling experience taking on the role.”It’s quite an honour to be chosen as president, especially being from the North. It’s kind of exciting, I believe our last northern president was back around 1990.”
Does he think that will give him a unique perspective?
“I wouldn’t say a president from Vancouver would be any different but I always tease them down south that I’m from Prince George, northern B.C. – the economical engine of the province, which has some interesting comments back.”
