Community Appreciation Awards

Prince George, B.C.- Members of Council and the Mayor of Prince George joined a very special group of folks on the steps of City Hall this morning. The group is made up of local citizens who will be honored this weekend at the Civic Appreciation Dinner.
Among those to be honoured:
- Outstanding Volunteer Award of Merit recipients ; Noreen Rustad and Wendy Ulch
- Recreation and Culture Award of Merit recipients: Nowell Senior , Neil Taylor, Allan Thorp
- Community Service Award recipients: Trelle Morrow, Don Homan, Marcelle Carr
- Youth of the Year recipient: Daniel O’Reilly
- Access Award of Merit: Tabor Mountain Recreation Society
- Heritage Citation Historic Places Award: Prince George Citizen
“These people represent what is so special about Prince George” said Mayor Lyn Hall “I look at the folks here this morning and I see someone like Noreen Rustad. She has volunteered for years and just keeps on doing it and she is one of so many who are doing the same so its important that we recognize them, its important that we say thanks.”
The dinner will take place on the 23rd at the Civic Centre.

I’m especially pleased to see Noel Senior’s smiling face in this group. The work he and his friends have done building the Ancient Forest walkway is amazing!
