Home and Garden Show Underway
Prince George, B.C. – This is day two of the 39th annual Canadian Home Builders Northern BC Home and Garden Show this weekend at the Exhibition Grounds in Prince George.
The show features vendors of a wide variety of products and services as well as information booths where you can gather tips and suggestions on ways to enhance all facets of your home and the property it sits on. The highly-popular Ask An Expert feature is back to supply information on dealing with all sorts of renovation and modification questions.
Also back this year is the Kutthroat Construction Competition with crews from three companies building creative playhouses within 17.5 hours over the course of the three-day show. The winner will be determined by the public. Once completed the playhouses will be auctioned off, with proceeds going to BC Children’s Hospital, the Parkinson’s Society and the YMCA of Northern BC.
The Home and Garden Show also features a Birdhouse Auction, the Ugly Stove Contest with the winner receiving a new Energy Star stainless steel stove, a Trades Pavilion, a seminar on workplace safety, outdoor living workshops, loads of door prizes and plenty more.
The show runs today from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The schedule of events can be found at www.chbahomeshow.ca.
Admission is $8 for adults, while seniors, students and people with disabilities pay $6. Kids under 12 get in free.
