Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect

Prince George, B.C. – policecarnewJust one day after police released a surveillance image of a suspect involved in an attempted robbery in Prince George this week there has been an arrest.

Today Mounties arrested a 27 year old local man they believe was responsible for an attempted robbery Tuesday night at the Parkwood Mall Save-On-Foods.

Officers arrived that evening to learn the suspect had attempted to steal a basket of meat from the store. When an employee confronted the alleged thief, the suspect pulled a knife.

The suspect dropped the basket and fled on foot with a waiting woman towards downtown Prince George. The victim was not injured.

Corporal Craig Douglass says the suspect is in custody and facing several charges and will be held overnight and make his first court appearance tomorrow.

The suspect’s name has not been released.
