Prince George, B.C. – “Everybody should do one thing and do it well.”
The words of Terri McClymont, executive director of the Recycling and Environmental Action Planning Society (REAPS) today on Earth Day.
REAPS is celebrating the annual event at its Compost Garden at 1950 Gorse Street until 2:00 p.m.
“Recycle, use a travel mug, take your own bags, turn the water off when you brush your teeth, close the refrigerator door,” she says. “When you leave the room shut the TV off and turn off the lights.”
First celebrated globally in 1970, are people getting the message?
“There’s always room for improvement. The younger generation I think are coming up and are really seeing that the Earth is stressed and we need to make change.”
REAPS is celebrating Earth Day with a number of activities including information booths, a recycling challenge, free compost, and kids crafts.
