Teenaged Girl Killed in Highway 16 Collision

Prince George, B.C. – Prince George RCMP have confirmed tonight that a young girl who was a passenger in one of two vehicles involved in a collision at Highway 16 and Vance Road early Friday afternoon has died of her injuries.
At approximately 12:30 pm Friday police, ambulance and fire personnel responded to the accident scene at the intersection of the highway and Vance Road. A truck with a trailer loaded with gravel was involved in the collision with an S-U-V. The two occupants of the SUV and the lone occupant of the pick-up were taken to University Hospital of Northern BC for treatment.
At approximately 6 o’clock Friday night the 15-year-old female passenger of the SUV passed away as a result of injuries sustained in the collision. The 17-year-old driver of the SUV and the adult male driver of the pick-up truck were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The highway was closed to traffic until late evening while investigators from the Prince George detachment and North District gathered evidence.
